Oh Canada!

"Heaven on Earth"
The Cabin in Canada!

We had a super fun family vacation with 20 people in Canada this July! It was amazing to introduce Levi to this love of Joel & mine.

He had fun with Aunt Laura & Uncle Ben....

"Good Morning, Daddy!!! Let's get up & eat some more of Great Grandma Fish's pancakes!!!"

Great times with cousin Jackson (& Jed & Nicki) all the way from NYC!!!!
Levi even got to go kayaking with Mommy - he seemed to know just what to do.

Highlights on this adventure included the hike up Blueberry mountain with Levi riding on Joel's back in the Snugli, many, many, many pancakes each morning, running out of gas 5 miles from the cabin - after the other boat already broke down!!!, getting lost (as usual) on an all day hike to Crosby Lake, celebrating Levi & Jackson's birthdays, riding in the canoe.... and a million more memories. What a treasure!

Mackinac City

On our way to Canada & back, we stopped in Mackinac City to see the amazing Bridge & spend time eating salt water taffy & walking the strip. As we drove Levi across the Bridge for the first time, he craned his neck to see out the window - so high off the water, seagulls flying all around with the "will be familiar" hum of the green grate beneath the Jeep's wheels.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Levi is 1 !!!!!!!!!!

Lots of friends & family spent the evening with us celebrating with good food, cupcakes and a baseball pinata! FUN!

So hard to believe that a year has gone by already! Levi is such a little BOY - he likes to eat dirt, throw rocks & explore everything. He is walking all over the place & constantly talking about many things we can't understand - so adorable!

YIPPEEEEE!!!! A new book!!!!!

4th of July!

We celebrated America's Birthday with our good friends:
Eric, Erin & Cole,
Jason, Jamie & Charlie,
Ted, Michelle & Nicole (Michelle's sister).

Grand Rapids closes the city bridges for the 4th & thousands gather to watch the fireworks over the Grand River. They are an amazing show!!! We started this tradition with Ted & Michelle last year (while I was in labor) - and loved it so much we wanted to do it again.

The kiddos were afraid at first and all of the parents who were holding them had to cover their ears - what a funny sight - 4 kids staring at the sky with ears covered :) ha ha haHalf way through the show, Levi pulled Joel's hands off his ears & pointed at the fireworks & squealed & talked ... he loved them!
